My name is Ulises Lliguin-Vargas, and I started marching at the age of 14.
In 8th grade I was able to march for my high school's marching band, thanks to my brother Cristian. The Crossmen alumni visited our school and I was lucky enough to be able to play with them- truly a wonderful time. My now band director noticed my skills from that visit, and with the help of my brother, I was able to march with the Royals.
During one of our comps, Raiders have set up a booth to promote their group, and I was very curious about it. They seemed really cool and they were located not to far from where I lived, so with a lot of begging and convincing, I was able to march Raiders in my 8th grade year. This isn't meant to brag about me getting in young or anything, simply just to share my story, and now I'm able to march my freshman year!
Now, although drum corps is extremely fun and such a great experience for band nerds; it's still a very costly commitment, which is where I need your help. My family aren't the richest in the world, and they could only pay off so much, and this is where you come in. By donating to my page, not only are you supporting my dream, you're supporting my family and this wonderful group to keep operating.
