Hello, my name is Brylee Having, and I am writing to you today to let you know that I have been awarded membership with the SkyRyders Drum and Bugle Corps out of Hutchinson Kansas. Drum and Bugle Corps is very similar to marching band, if marching band was on steroids. I am writing to you today to seek sponsorship or donations with our Corps fees.
I am a Trumpet player who attends Marionville High School and I live here in southwest Missouri. The SkyRyders are an organization that many students throughout high school and college in the Midwest look to join. This summer, we will compete against other Corps within the DCI organization. DCI stands for Drum Corps International
I have a love and passion to perform and play my trumpet and this activity will allow me to do that in front of thousands of fans. This is a unique learning environment and opportunity that a typical high school band room cannot provide. I will be instructed by many music and marching professionals with a top level of education.
This outdoor activity is not just about music, it is also about building character, integrity, leadership, friendships and teamwork skills that will last a lifetime.
This summer we will be traveling across the Midwest competing and performing our show at three different venues across two weeks of travel with hundreds of miles in between. It is an amazing opportunity, and very challenging to say the least.
The membership fees for the 2025 season are $750, which is extremely difficult for one 15-year-old to achieve on my own. However, with your contribution you will help me achieve this goal. Fees cover all travel, housing, food, equipment and instruction. This would be an excellent opportunity for you to contribute to the local youth within the community.
Traveling and performing with the SkyRyders this summer will be a great life experience that will have lifelong impacts.
