DCI is a nonprofit organization that runs a summer tour drum and bugle corps across the country. What makes DCI unique is the travel aspect. Members spend the entire summer on tour, riding buses from state to state and performing in different cities almost every night. Spring training alone can last several weeks, with 10–12 hour rehearsal days, followed by tour that can run 8–10 weeks in total. It’s an intense commitment that requires a lot of physical endurance, focus, and teamwork, but it also builds discipline, and resilience.
Because of the length of the season, travel expenses, instruction, housing, food, uniforms, and equipment, participation comes with significant tuition and fees. Members are responsible for covering these costs, which is why fundraising and financial support are so important. Support from family, friends, and the community helps make it possible to take part in this once-in-a-lifetime experience and represent both the corps and your hometown on a national stage.
If you have any other questions please reach out to ask anything and everything!
Once again, thank you so much for your support
In Rhythm,
Roman Gamboa
